Empowering children and youth for 25 years!
2023-2024 marks 25 years of helping children and youth to manage conflicts, to be safe, prevent discrimination and bullying, and to be kind to others. Close to a million kids have been positively affected by our work.
Here’s what we’re doing to celebrate:
- introducing Canadian Kindness Leaders, a new program that empowers kids aged 9-14 to do something kind for their school and/or community
- piloting new modules on topics of Inclusion & Diversity, Indigenous People, SOGI, Includability, and Online Safety
- raising $125,000 to help fund new youth and inclusion programs
- hosting a Gala Anniversary event in our hometown of Victoria BC

In our humble beginnings in 1998 as the Rock Solid Foundation, volunteers started countering gang recruitment by helping at-risk youth in projects like the Trackside Art Gallery and a print shop for covering street furniture, etc. with beautiful designs. Rock Solid also started working with local schools to develop the WITS strategies into a bona fide program to help kids manage conflict, bullying and discrimination. Now, the WITS Program has proliferated across Canada and into the USA, Korea, Egypt, Belgium, Germany and New Zealand. Our offerings have expanded to involve older youth and a national Pink Shirt Day presence. Our partnerships are many, including the Red Cross, UNICEF, Naut’sa mawt Tribal Council, MediaSmarts, Fablevision and many others.
